A first-generation Mexican-Cuban American born and raised in the Bronx, he attended Pratt Institute, the first in his family to graduate from college. After graduation, he juggled working between the fine and commercial art worlds trying to figure out how to stay true to his art while paying back his family for putting him through college. His journey forced him to continually take on diverse career choices, learn new skills, and embrace technological advancements.
“HP Matte Litho Realistic Paper is a professional, heavy-weight paper with a texture that is close to a traditional silk screen paper for gallery prints. HP Matte Litho Realistic Paper prints high-quality and has the look and feel of heavy, offset paper.” says Arocena. “ I also like the HP Universal Bond Paper for test proofs, street art promotions and wheat pasting posters.” Arocena is currently working with HP Universal Bond Paper and wood – a technique in which his vector art is printed then glued to wood and the surface of the paper is rubbed away. HP Universal Bond Paper is an FSC®-certified paper perfect for everyday printing.
